Pet travel has certainly come a long way! There was a time when it was almost impossible to find accommodations that allowed pets. Now, hotels offer menus with gourmet delights, pet amenities, pet sitting services, pet welcome packages and so much more. There are even spas which have resident puppies as therapy to enhance the health/wellness guest experience.
Canine ambassadors – one of my favorite trends with hoteliers. What nicer way to be greeted upon arrival at your destination than a smiling pup! The Fairmont is one of the brands famous for this. Catie Copley of The Fairmont Copley Plaza was even the star of two children’s books! Montage Deer Valley has Parker, a Bernese Mountain Dog who has his own Instagram page (parker_the_berner), so you can follow all of his fun activities, & Ashford Castle in Ireland has two Irish Wolfhounds, Cronan and Garvan, also with an Instagram page of their own (Ashford_wolfhounds). And the list goes on…Some hotels even allow guests to take their canine ambassador out with them for their daily walk, just so they have company while they exercise. I just LOVE canine ambassadors!
